Art Journaling through February

These are my spreads for February so far.

I was in a dark headspace when I created the following spread and it came through on the page. The quote says: An old Cherokee told his grandson, "My son, there is a battle between two wolves inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, humility, kindness, empathy and truth. The boy thought about it, and asked, "Grandfather, which wolf wins?" The old man quietly replied, "The one you feed."

I was feeding the wrong wolf for a few days.

I was back to my happy self.

The last one is currently in progress and was inspired by a landscape that Alisa Burke did in the Sketchbook Delight Part 2 class. I had just finished watching her video when I started the spread and the look and feel came from her demonstration.

  1. These are REALLY great. I love the color. The sunflowers are gorgeous, and I LOVE the mandala.

I'm kind of feeding my "anxious and vulnerable" wolf these days. It all started with a dentist appointment, which was yesterday and *SO* not a big deal, and rarely is, but it sent my anxiety sensors into overdrive so everything has been pushing me over the edge. I feel like this morning I'm finally starting to "reset".

BTW, I got happy mail last night- we came home and found the package on our doorstep. <3 Opening it as soon as Tom is off his meeting. I feel like it's Christmas :)
